Let AI Help—and Keep Working on the Same Document

Improve the structure, refine the writing, or create a translation. Bring the result back, see what changed, and decide how to continue.

An AI can quickly produce another version. The important work is deciding whether it preserves the meaning, keeps the details that matter, and deserves to become the version you maintain next.

Continue with AI connects file preparation with review when the result returns. You choose the AI tool and keep the final decision about your document.

Decide what this pass should change

Open the document and inspect it in Markdown Preview and Universal Mind Map. Check obvious omissions and structural errors against the source before going further.

Keep the wording, or improve it too?

• Structure Optimization suits content that already reads well but needs a clearer hierarchy or reading path.
• Structure and Expression Optimization also asks the AI to improve flow and readability while retaining the information and meaning.

Both modes aim to preserve the information and intent of the source.

Choose Translate as well when you want the result in another language.

Choose the scope around a concrete task

Suppose an article makes a complete argument but has little explicit structure. You want to find the method, conditions, and examples quickly next time. Structure Optimization can add useful heading levels while preserving paragraphs, examples, and qualifications. Success means easier navigation, not simply more nodes.

If the material combines several discussions and contains repetition or abrupt transitions, choose Structure and Expression Optimization. Add a specific requirement such as: “Keep the three examples and their conditions, combine repeated explanations, and write for someone encountering this topic for the first time.” Naming the reader and the material to preserve is more useful than asking for a general improvement.

Neither mode is a summary by default. If you separately request a summary, analysis, or accessible introduction, label the added material and review its relationship to the source. When structure is the main problem, asking for heavy compression at the same time makes it harder to judge whether the original information survived.

Give the AI the complete working material

Choose a file format it can handle

Use a Standard Bundle when the AI tool supports ZIP files. It carries the Markdown and available local images or related resources together. Otherwise, prepare a single AI Editing File.

The file already contains the processing instructions. You can add a specific priority, such as “Keep the existing sections and add one level of structure only where it helps.”

DeMinds prepares the file locally. It does not upload it or call the AI automatically. The external service processes what you upload under its own terms and settings.

One file is convenient, but it cannot stand in for missing resources

An AI Editing File carries the document body and information for reconnecting the work. It does not include local images or attachments. A relative image path says where an image belongs; it does not mean the AI has seen the image. If the task involves interpreting a chart, revising a caption, or checking visual evidence, provide the resources in a form the chosen tool can read and confirm that it received them.

After receiving the result, open the returned directory and check that the images and related resources referenced by the document are present.

Retrieve the complete result

Ask for a downloadable file. With an AI Editing File, keep the whole file rather than extracting only the article text. Its identification and document boundaries help DeMinds reconnect the work.

If the platform can only return text, copy the complete file from its single Markdown code block, without the surrounding conversation.

Download the complete returned file from your AI tool, then open it in DeMinds. ChatGPT is shown as one example.

Bring it back and decide what is worth keeping

Open the returned file or valid bundle. When DeMinds recognizes the original project in the current workspace, choose Continue Original Work, review the comparison, and confirm whether to apply it. Supported clipboard and system-sharing paths can also receive AI Editing Files.

Judge the content, not just the presentation

Read the main conclusion, then inspect the changes. Are the examples still there? Have qualifications disappeared? Does the hierarchy express real relationships? For a translation, check terminology, tone, and how uncertainty is conveyed.

Then check important links, images, formulas, and tables. Smoother prose does not guarantee that those elements survived intact.

Once you confirm, the returned version becomes the working copy. A recoverable history entry is saved before application, and the imported baseline stays separate. Open the result as a new document if you want to explore it without replacing your current direction.

Review the text and map through Version History: the previous version is above, and the current version is below. Judge the changes by their content.

If you kept editing while the AI worked, compare carefully

You may have added notes in DeMinds after sending the earlier version to an AI. Its response is based on what you sent; it does not automatically contain your later changes. Pay particular attention to those passages when comparing, so that accepting a smoother rewrite does not erase subsequent work.

If you are not yet sure which direction to keep, use Open as New Content to preserve a separate result before deciding how to consolidate it. Reconnecting a file provides identification, comparison, and confirmation; it does not mean every external change is automatically merged with later edits.

On a wide screen, Side-by-Side lets you review the structure beside the text while opening history and comparison in the Markdown pane. This helps assess organization, but facts, numbers, terms, and citations still need close reading. A tidier map alone is not a reason to accept the result.

When the original project is not recognized

Check that the original document is in the current workspace and that the returned file is complete. If the project or its identifying information is unavailable, open the result as new content. Plain Markdown remains editable, but does not itself establish a connection to the original project.

Make this pass a starting point for the next one

Save the reviewed version and return through Continue Working. Keep editing manually or ask an AI to help with a more specific question.
